I qualified as a solicitor in 1987, having joined Kidd & Spoor as a graduate trainee directly from University. I am now a consultant in the firm and over the years have been involved in most aspects of what Kidd & Spoor do. As a result I have built up a valuable experience across a wide range of subjects.

For many years, my main interest and specialist knowledge was in criminal defence work, working as a court lawyer on a daily basis, representing defendants, often in complex and high profile cases. I worked as a duty solicitor for excess of 30 years and was one of the first solicitors in Newcastle to attain Higher Rights off Audience (HRA) qualification, enabling me to represent clients in the higher courts.

Some years ago, I decided that I needed a new challenge and I now undertake private client work, more specifically specialist legal work for the older person. I am always prepared to travel to see clients at home and/or in hospital.

I have a friendly, personable approach and provide sound, easy to understand, common sense advice.
