We are proud to announce the recruitment of Joanne Scott who has come to work with us from a highly respected Newcastle firm. Joanne will be head of our Family and Matrimonial Department in our Whitley Bay office. She has been a qualified solicitor for in excess of 20 years, having always worked in private practice.
Although her aim will be to keep separating couples out of the court process wherever possible, she has extensive experience in resolving cases through the court process. She has a particular specialism in resolving the financial aspects of divorce or separation.
Most people going through a divorce or separation would rather avoid having to go to court if possible. It is important at a very early stage, to know what your options are and to get advice on how to reach a fair outcome as quickly and as cost effectively as possible.
Joanne is a trained qualified and practising collaborative lawyer and is also a practising mediator. She sits on the executive committee of the Northeast Collaborative Group.
The collaborative process is an alternative to going through the court process. Using collaborative law, each person appoints their own collaborative trained lawyer and you and your respective layers meet together to work things out face to face. You will have your lawyer by your side throughout the process and so you will have their support and legal advice as you go. This often results in a more amicable and cost effective way of resolving matters.
Should you be having difficulty with your marriage or relationship and would wish to have a confidential chat without obligation then please feel free to give Joanne a ring on 0191 297 0011 or to contact her by email on firstname.lastname@example.org
